The members in Lars Fiil Quartet joined forces in 2007 and their career really took off when they won the prestigious Danish talent‐competition “Young Jazz” in April 2010. The victory led to concerts abroad, amongst others Bohemia Jazzfest in the Czech Republic and Umea Jazzfestival in Sweden, and when they participated in the pan‐Scandinavian competition “Young Nordic Jazz Comets” in Helsinki in September 2010, their bass‐player was presented with the award for “Best Soloist”. Their sucees reached new levels in 2011 when they were nominated for a Danish Music Award (The Danish equivalent to the Grammys) in the category “New Artist of the Year 2011”.

In the beginning of 2011 the group released its debutalbum entitled Reconsideration. It features 9 tracks, all penned by bandleader Lars Fiil, and it draws its inspiration both from the lyrical, melancholic sounds of Scandinavia and the wild and extrovert expressions from the modern experimenting jazzscene.

The record has received a lot of praise from critics all around the world, and has gotten airplay on major radiostations in Scandinavia, the UK and in USA.
